Immediate dentures are used to replace missing gums, bone and teeth at the same time as extractions. We measure and make dentures in house at Designer Dentures and make sure that they look good. This gentleman hadn’t been to see a dentist since he was in Intermediate School where he had a traumatic experience. He is now in his early 30’s and is a single man but his natural teeth were not of good health and every single tooth in his mouth was loose due to advanced periodontal disease. It was a big procedure for him to decide on and say it is time to take out all of the teeth in his mouth and have a full set of dentures fitted at the same time as the surgery.
However as you can see from the smile on this young man’s face he is very happy with the decision and his confidence will grow substantially as a result. Whenever Immediate Dentures are fitted there is some discomfort naturally as the gums and bone is still healing. We can expect there to be pain and for the dentures to become loose as the gums and bones heal and reshape. However in most circumstances this is still the best option and realistically it is better to have teeth to chew with, smile and speak with rather than waiting 6 weeks or more to heal.

Also if you were to have an immediate partial denture you can have it made with a material which we can add to. This way you can join more teeth to the denture if more of your teeth fail in future.
