Tooth broken off denture needing a repair
This is a denture which came in to our workshop for a repair. As you can see the tooth has broken off from it and it needs repairing back on.

This is a denture which came in for repair at our Dental Laboratory in Papatoetoe this year. The tooth has broken off from the denture and it was luckily saved by this client so that it could be rejoined back into the denture saving the client a lot of money and time. We do same day denture repairs all of the time for people. Unfortunately dentures are not indestructible and they do at times break. We at Designer Dentures ofter fix broken bases on dentures and broken off teeth where ever possible. We also do denture maintenance on them to prevent such things happening like denture relines.

When your denture is repaired it is done in an special on site laboratory where your denture is first disinfected in Unicide 256. The denture is then handled by our expert staff where we form a high accuracy silicone key to preserve the shape of your denture. We then strip back the damaged section of the denture in a contamination free environment and ensure accurate surface preparation for the best bonding strength. We then reinforce weakened areas with a stainless steel mesh, Stainless steel wire or Chrome Cobalt bar. We then use a high impact acrylic resin mixed to accurate proportions and pressure cure the resin over the broken area in a high accuracy and electronically controlled curing unit. After this the repair is carefully inspected before we shape, smooth and polish the damaged area; all the while taking great care to look after the rest of your denture.

If you break your denture don’t panic or feel embarrassed. We have seen and heard it all when it comes to damaged dentures and always conduct ourselves in a professional manner with no judgement. It may be a stressful moment but we can repair the denture for you in a matter of hours. Sometimes people bring in their relative’s denture to be fixed without them needing to even attend the appointment. If we cannot repair the denture for any reason like a material which cannot be bonded to or if the damage is too much to justify a repair we will let you know. You may even want to consider a replacement denture on some occasions. Also don’t forget; we do offer a free consultation so it will cost you absolutely nothing to get our advice.

How do I pay for my treatment? Well we are also approved with all of the major insurance providers so if your broken denture needs replacement you may wish to contact your home and contents provider. Another option to fund your denture repair or replacement is to take a quote to WINZ (Work and Income New Zealand). WINZ also goes by the name MSD (Ministry of Social Development). This helps if you have a Community Services Card. The other options include taking your quote to withdraw from your Kiwi saver fund. Also there are many grants available to people which they do not even know about like from their Iwi. Also you can just pay for the treatment privately which means that you have the options of cash, bank transfer in store, credit or debit card or a finance option like using After Pay or Q Card (surcharge may apply).

We hope that this information helps in making your decision on what to do and we are here to help so please feel free to call us on 092772049 or 0800866849. Alternatively just come on in to our clinic. One of our expert team will see you as soon as possible for a FREE Consultation.
