If you ever break your denture don’t panic. Do not attempt to repair the denture yourself using superglue or a denture repair kit. These methods spoil the join between the broken segments of the denture and can at times make the denture unrepairable. We have seen it many times where an at home, botched DIY denture repair has completely spoiled the overall result.

In order to ensure that your denture is repaired correctly we take the broken peices and make a high accuracy addition cured silicone model of the fitting surface and peripherey of the denture. We then strip back the broken portion of the denture and prepare more of the denture to increase the bonding area on the denture pieces.
We often reinforce broken sections of the denture using a stainless steel mesh and then try to thicken up the broken portion of acrylic denture where ever there is the space to do so. If the damage is due to teeth breaking off the denture like in this instance we cut retention grooves into the tooth to also increase the bonding area.
From there we use an ultra high impact denture acrylic to join the broken and prepared surfaces back together. We let this material set in a temperature and pressure controlled curing unit with a timer running to ensure that the material is completely set and the added material is safe to wear according to the manufacturers exact specifications. The completely set material that we have repaired back onto the denture is then shaped, smoothed using specific dental tools and pummce. We then take the highly smoothed and finished surfaces to the next level by polishing the denture with specific high gloss protective coating.
Generally the denture repair does last for a very long time however there is no guarantee on the longevity of the denture lasting if it is not a product which we manufactured from the beginning.
